<!380>2.7mm Locking Self-Tapping Cortical Screws

Description
The 2.7mm Universal Locking, Self Tapping Cortex Screw is designed to fit the VID Universal Locking Plates. Pre-drill with a 2.0mm drill bit. No tapping necessary. The screw can be inserted into any 2.7 mm or 3.5-4.0mm VID Universal Locking plate equipped with a 4 notch locking hole. The VID 2.7mm drill guide must be used for proper hole positioning. The screw can be inserted perpendicularly to the plate with the straight drill guide or can be inserted with a 15 degree variation in 360 degree direction to a total of 30 degree angle using the funnel end of the drill guide. The screw can be inserted and removed several times in the straight in configuration and can be inserted or removed a few times in the polyaxial configuration before it would fail to lock in.

This screw is equipped with a standard AO/ASIF hex head accepting the same standard 2.5mm AO/ASIF hex screw driver used for 2.7mm AO/ASIF screws. The screwdriver fits into the head deeper than with an AO/ASIF screw for additional torque power. There is no need for torx screw driver. The design is sufficient to lock in with applying regular force.

Additional Notes & Tips
When a 2.7mm cortical AO/ASIF screw or a 2.7mm VID Universal Locking Screw was attempted to be placed and the bone tunnel thread stripped, a 3.5 mm VID locking screw can be placed if bone stock allows. The 3.5mm VID Universal Locking Screw was designed to be pre-drilled with a 2.5 mm or a 2.7mm drill bit, so it would grab with maximal force in a 2.7 mm stripped hole and therefore can be used to rewise the hole. The 2.7mm and 3.5-4-0 mm VID Locking System Plates are interchangeable to accept all 3 locking screw sizes.
